NW ...in an effort to divert away from guns, you brought up the issue of violent video games...ironically the same day DRUDGE ran a huge article about how the DC killer was a vid freak. The other day, Grand Theft Auto came out and sold $800,000,000 of product in ONE day. I will ask you again, since you brought the idea up, what do you propose we do to fix it?

I'm sure that there are more guns, in more houses, than there are violent video games. So I guess it would come down to ratios, where would the ratios lead you?
It's a tough recognition, our hunger for violence, as a society, seems to be at the root of the problem more than the existence of guns.
Guns don't make those type of vids, and guns don't glorify themselves.

I know the arguments NW, what should we do? I do know what I'd do with gun laws, that's an easy one, what about violent video games? Should we force parents of young gamers to eat a gluten -free diet until their kids stop gaming? Should we ban them ? I see Drudge running his diversion tactic daily, but I never see any suggestions..its kind of like most Republicans.

I guess the question is.........

If you have two people with the same mental issues, one that plays violent video game and one that doesn't, but both are equally aware of the countries past mass shootings, which one is more likely to kill a dozen people in another mass shooting?

I could be wrong, but I don't see the video games making a difference, but I do see the media's recounting of the shootings as a big motivator if the goal of the shooter is to make a BIG statement as he goes out. However, I don't see a solution to the media coverage.

I guess you don't need an assault type weapon to make a statement after all.

Not punish the innocent with increased gun laws, and better public awareness about the risks of ultraviolent video games being viewed by the impressionable. And there is no age limit when considering who is impressionable.
MADD has done a very good job with their goals, and liqueur is still legal.

Like I've said before, the vast majority of all killings are done by MEN UNDER 35 WITH DOCUMENTED MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES...

Madd is the perfect example.
They did bring the innocent public increased checking of IDs among other laws.
They do not plan to ban alchohol
Those who want background checks are not trying to ban guns, either.

The difference is that MADD does not have a powerful lying organization like the NRA who gets drinkers to loudly chant
"You are taking our guns away" every time they want to check an ID.

He's talking about notorious mass killings, not Chicago gang bangers, so his sources include every newspaper, radio, and TV news outlet in the country. Pick your favorite.
