Gather $100,000 dollars and it'll be a PWA event. Cape Cod in September is almost guaranteed to have as much wind as Pozo did a couple weeks ago. Gud Luck

What? You are not flying back for the event?

Maybe Graham meant that we should raise money so we can pay for his ticket, and also fly in some of his buddies from Bonaire. Perhaps next year if he learns the Air Kabikuchi in the mean time!

Could that move possibly been done on purpose!! I don't think so! Amazing!
Please add a Clew-View to the list of raffle prizes. Very Happy

If you look at the regular Kabikuchi, the move is almost understandable - "just" a backwinded 180 turn in switch stance at the end of a Kono. Keeping the entire move in the air is what makes it really crazy!

Thanks for donating the Clew-View!

A tentative schedule for the ECWF Cape Cod is now available at http://www.ecwindfest.org/cc/schedule_cc.html.

We have also posted a draft of the freestyle rules, with a list of tricks for the different categories and their scores, at http://www.ecwindfest.org/cc/freestyle_cc.html. If you plan to do a trick that's not on the list, please let us know! Many of the planing and pro-level tricks have links to videos, in case anyone wants to brush up on recognizing moves Smile

I always thought that the Vulcan ,Spock, Willy Skipper, Free Willy, E-Slider and Loop were "old school" moves. Correct me if I'm wrong, not that I could do those anyway

Strange I did not see my best trick on the list.
The deep water water start?

Pete, you are correct about the Willy Skipper, Free Willy, and the Loop. Vulcan and Spock are the oldest new school moves. I think the original definition of "new school" was that it include a backward slide in the straps. E-slider is slightly newer new school.

The loop is actually listed in two categories, since even PWA pros still do it in competition. We'd love to see the pro-level sailors at the ECWF throw a few Smile.

We put the Willy Skippers in the Pro category because it's also a sliding trick, and one very difficult Willy Skipper variation (the Sucker) was done just recently in PWA freestyle finals by Tonky. Most guys I know who can do Willy Skippers can do other new school moves, too, and prefer them. If anyone plans to compete in freestyle and do Willy Skippers but no new school moves, let us know! Also, if anyone is planning to compete with rail ride variations, we'd like to add those to the list - let us know which ones, and how difficult you think they are.

You'll probably find that many windsurfers will disagree about the relative difficulty of tricks. Mike, Nina, and I had some heated discussions when we made the list - each of us would have changed a few things around. But we wanted to publish the scores before the event so that everyone knows how they'll be judged. Just do more of the tricks that get higher scores, even if you think they are easy!

Haha!! Jerry, you know now I'll be totally hyping up your "deep water start" when your competing on the bullhorn Smile

And Peter, it was a great idea to publish the list of moves so that everyone can prepare before the event! Great job!!!

See you in less than 2 weeks!!!!

Mike
