Hi Gang,

Even if you don't give squat about what causes our wind you have to wonder what a Cut-Off Low is since so often they either mess up our wind or really jazz up Sherman Island winds.

Today is unusual since the Cut-Off Low you can see forming in this video from last night: http://blog.weatherflow.com/?p=14413 has unexpectedly move directly over the Bay Area at ≈ 18,000 ft.

In this second video below you can see this Cut-Off Low in the satellite imagery from dawn today below.

Hey Mike, John H (by Big Creek) here. Howdy !

As your usual meteorological is super cool .. BUT, you didn't finish the coffee briefing this morning. Ha ! Likely obvious to other wind junkies, but from looking at NOAA graphical MTR, I am *guessing* the Bay area will be flat no wind, variable direction, and am guessing .. what .. will Sherman blow a bit? perhaps catch a late river session to practice strapless swip-swap.

As aside, personally love NOAA link, nothing quite like it on your guys tools, also the NRL fog

So, cutoff low, does that usually fire up the Delta? not being a river regular, but have had a couple pretty fun days there this summer.

.. fun sess late closing last night at the coast with just Pacific Bruce & me (slow poke kite-kook) closing shop after most left, fog filled back in after 7. This morning the marine layer is solid to about 800ft with breaking peeks of blue on the ridge above our break @Waddell.
gotta love it, john h.
