I fully agree that messing with the live human scammers is fun. We led "Fagbemi" on for weeks before he caught on (I don't think he ever did understand all our jokes about his screen name), but the vast majority of Nigerian scammers are bots that never see our responses until we agree to send them our firsrtborn. They troll by the millions until their filters find a sucker.

2.3 posts a day isn't a huge time drain. And if lozo can actually get a scammer to respond, the fun quotient goes way up. We kept Fagbemi on the hook for a couple of weeks, to everyone's delight.

I listed a kite for sale on NWKite.com. I received an inquiry from a guy in Saudi Arabia who wanted it shipped there, so my radar went up. When I said I'd only ship within the US, he gave me a San Diego address and paid in advance by PayPal.

He emailed me last week with subject "Thankful letter": "I loved the kite, I flow it this Friday, it performed really good, I want to take a picture showing the kite in Saudi sky's for you unfortunate I forgot the memory card that day."

So sometimes deals that start out smelling fishy, turn out legit. Although I haven't seen a photo yet . . .
