i have a kite listed for sale on this site for $500. and for you narrow minded pole benders, i windsurf in the gorge and kite in mexico. i was emailed by johnson white who said he wanted to buy the kite for his son. once i sent him my address so he could send a check, he notified me that a check for $2,000 was in the mail from his bank. he kept sending my emails and texts telling me to deposit the check asap and he would tell me what to do with the balance. he also mentioned that his son was living in the ukraine and he had a private shipping company that would come to my house and pick up the kite. after avoiding any direct answers for several emails, he finally said that he wanted me to send the $1,500 overage via western union to a shipping company that didn't appear on a google search. although i was tempted to go along in order to figure out the scam, i refused delivery on the check and ended the deal.
just wondering if anyone else has had any similar offers on this site. |

Were your other 6 posts as brilliant and engaging as this one? _________________ The Time a Person Spends Windsurfing is not Deducted from their Lifespan...

Yes, I had something very similar happen with a board I had for sale, right down to him having a shipping company that would pick up the board. The whole thing was wierd from the start, each e-mail just got stranger with a man called Perdro asking for more and more personal information, at that point I just stopped the communication before it went any farther. |

new email address, same scam: got this earlier today and asked him to use paypal. got a big no, can only do money order.
from:malcolmsimmons2000@gmail.com
Hello,
I'm glad you still have it for sale and i would have love to come and
see your item but my scheduled is very tight, I am willing to pay your
asking price. I can only pay via money order as am on a business trip
now in other country. I will make arrangement for the pick-up after
payment have been received by you. I don't mind adding an extra twenty
dollar($20) so you can keep it in my favor. Please keep it in my
favor. How should your Name appear on the check? And your address
Where to mail it to? And what is your cell number? final price? You
can stop other offers and consider it sold to me.

Why are you even wasting your time on the most common scam in the history of the internet? |

... says someone who has 11,000+ posts to this forum. Talk about a time waste.
Actually teasing this guy on sounds kind of fun to me, like catching a fish. See how much time you can get the other guy to waste on trying to wheedle money out of you. The syntax of those emails is like a self parody they are so comical. |

agree with scott. I like to fuck with them a little bit, mimic their broken english, offer to sell them the "item" for 2 goats and a night with their least attractive wife. That's when the bartering and fun begins, and you do get to peer into their world a little bit to see who these fuckwads are. The confused emails they send back are worth the time kill (if you have any to kill).
I figure if everybody started messing with them, they'd probably stop, or just be fodder for amusement so winning! |
