Hello!

Has anyone tried cheeky masts? http://www.surfshop-windsurf.de/cheeky-c100-skinny-mast-p-533.html

fairly cheap, cc and lots of carbon so i was thinking about giving it a go on my ezzys.

Would like to get an ezzy 340 bottom and 430 top to fit into my quiver but that thing is so damn expensive. Man it sometimes bugs me how expensive this gear is :/ I know it´s expensive to make high quality stuff out of expensive materials. But in my other hobbie/profession i can buy a kick ass guitar for 4000$ and it lasts me a lifetime. 4000$ won´t last for that long while windsurfing

But hey, back on topic, anyone tried these masts or heard anything about them?

I anticipate that the $2k I spent on a full quiver of Nolimitz Skinnies and a couple of spares (prices ranged from $300 to $35) will last me a lifetime AND spare me many swims and some damaged sails. If it does, that's well worth the cost.

Well, don´t get me wrong guys. My post was about a specific mast and if anyone had tried that high carbon mast. I´m not planing on buying a crappy mast.

-and then i rambled on about my frustration about how sometimes the sport can be expensive, and just for fun compared apples and oranges in that matter.

Being a foreign brand product, I have my doubts you'll ever find a US retailer or distributor offering Cheeky masts for sale. I've never seen or heard about them in the past. Also, if you were to buy one offshore, you might find warranty issues could be very difficult should you have a problem with it.

No limits has made a lot of skinnys for a very long time. I've never heard a complaint about quality.
If all gear was like that sailing would be more affordable.
Cheap stuff that breaks is not affordable.

OMG! You buy USED MASTS?

So do I, especially a Skinny® @ $35 with no damage. I suspect .... hope? ... that structural damage to a thick-walled, well-built mast would be visible.

If memory serves, Rexi lives in Iceland so a 2nd hand mast from Windance is unlikely to be as attractive to Rexi as to noshuzbluz.

Yep. I think all my Ezzy masts are used. I can rig all 4 of my sails on the right mast and not break anything down avoiding a derig/rigging frenzy. Although I don't see any listed, I've bought separate tops/bottoms a couple of times since Ezzy will mix and match for the right fit. The freekin' things are pretty bomb proof as long as they haven't had a sharp impact to create a break point. HA! Now watch. I'll break one next week!
