Bengahzi is a cover-up. It happened during a heated election, so Obama didn't want to rock the boat with an inconvenient "rescue". It should have been done. It could have been done. The military wanted to do it. Real time observers knew what it was from the beginning.

Obama/Clinton lied, people died.

Benghazi was a CIA operation - a perhaps legitimate but certainly not legal, covert attempt to disarm some extreme factions among the rebel groups. The fact that the US mission under the state department was in any way used for and involved in a CIA operation is the original screw-up, and that's a valid concern and issue.

Whether the US military was in the position to extract civilians is a discussion for armchair generals (and claiming Obama knew about this as it was going on, and withheld support, is nothing but conspiracy theory).

Horseshit.

The biggest lie of the century was Bush/Cheney, et al., "We gotta take down Saddam because of WMDs."

The neo-cons lied, and far, far more people died.

But Halliburton and Blackwater?

They're doing fine, thankyouverymuch.

Bard, I would like to see the sources and statistics to support your very questionable post, but one thing that you need to acknowledge up front is the fact that the US wouldn't have been involved in wars in Iraq and Afghanistan if it wasn't for the Bush/Cheney Administration. Moreover, once a war is started and American troops are involved on the ground, you just can't leave at the drop of a hat. I recollect all the uproar, particularly from the right, regarding President Obama decisions to exit Iraq, and especially Afghanistan. In the case of the latter, the idea of identifying a 2014 exit date was heavily criticized. While you might not have been one from that camp, you have to acknowledge that Obama has stepped up and provided definitive deadline.

Now for a little history. You're old enough to remember that when President Nixon was elected in 1968, he campaigned on ending the Vietnam War. How long did that take? As I recollect, that took about 5 years. Of course, nobody died in the that period, right?

Soooo..... Let's do the math.

Bush: 4232 + 630 = 4862

Obama: 256 + 1496 = 1759

It's Dubya at 4862 and "The Great Leader" at 1759.

Yessiree, Mr. B, you got your 4x ratio. Well done!

And who's making all the noise now to invade Iran and Syria?

Why, it's the war-mongering righties, of course. Who else? Can you spell McCain?

Oh, Mikey, you're such a funny guy. You claim that it's a crime that Bush didn't cover it up? And he committed other crimes we don't know of yet?

What he didn't cover up is all the piles of horseshit he left everywhere he and Cheney went.

Maybe I recollect incorrectly, but didn't the Bush/Cheney administration have a ban on photos and videos of dead soldiers coming back from Iraq and Afghanistan?
