|
|
Ok first swap at windance is this sunday the 21st. I am look for a 2010 or newer 90ish freestyle wave board. Forgiving in the gybe and smoothing out chop are the most important things.
Ok before you ask I weigh 200lbs and have been sailing high wind since 1996. |

You might consider the 96 litre or even larger JP Allride. it has more vee in the midsection and seems to this 200 plus rider smoother in the chop than the 100l JP Freestyle wave. I sail the All Ride 105 all ride a lot in 5 to 6m conditions (which is pretty windy with my Northwave Featherlights) in chop and hardly ever use the freestyle wave. The Allride is not as turny as the Freestyle wave but unless your focus is swell riding it works just fine. Don't know if you can find one at a swap meet though...and I'm not selling mine.... |

The JP 92 FSW works well. I owned a 2011 model for a bit this spring, and it was a nice board. Sailed it at Swell with a 5.2, it was fast and jibed well. A little more front foot oriented than I'm used to but it has a bit of tail rocker that makes it turn well on swell....I'm 152 lbs and it didn't buck me off
I have owned a RRD 95 FSW since 2007 and find it is the gold standard for comfortable friendly FSW boards. Planes quick, turns nice and is balanced and cushy in the chop. Not as fast as the JP, but that's OK. It was my go to board when I weighed 190 LBS, but at 150, it's my light wind cruiser.

Wait.
What ?!?!?!
A few years ago, you were windsurfing at 190 lbs.
But now, you're still windsurfing at 152 ?!?!?!
There must be a good story there. Of course, NONE of our business
Anyway, good for you... That is, I hope you're healthy and happy.
Take care,

Starfish, at 200 pounds you should take up couch surfing or kiting. I am not sure why you are not looking at a 105 liter board or maybe a tandem to bond with your girlfriend/wife. I assume that you are a male at 200 but I should not jump to conclusions. |

Wow... what's "that post" supposed to mean?
Maybe you guys are friends... and you're just talking trash
Anyway... he's been sailing hi-winds since '96... so I'm pretty sure he has an idea of what he wants, LOL |
