The natural tendency is for rights to be whittled away bit by bit.
Rights are never restored bit by bit.
Once lost they are gone until the next revolution. |

The rights of women have been restored little by little all my life. Same with black people and others of color.
When I was a kid gun ownership was much less than now.
There are hundreds of cases in courts in the US concerning folks rights being taken away brought by those who want them restored.
The bush people took away our right to not be subject to search and seizure and we are slowly getting that back.
They took away our right to genetic research that would have saved my father and now we are getting that back.
I think America is much more free than it once was because folks go to the ballot box in this country when they see their rights compromised.
Minority groups voted in the last cycle and seem likely to continue. Those who aould take rights from the weak are worried a lot about that trend. |

You gunphobes will love this one. Springfield Armory, whose pistols many owners prefer over Glocks, now makes a world-class, high-tech, 6-round, 21.5-ounce, (semi-automatic) pistol smaller than a man's hand with fingers straight but touching each other and not even counting the thumb -- i.e., it's smaller and thinner than your palm and straight fingers.
Popgun? Heh heh ... guess again. It's a fullbore, kickass .45 ACP. |

Door to door gun confiscation, people seem to be in favor of it. |
Wow!!
Do you really think that video was about door-to-door gun confiscation? Really?
As Mac almost said, "You two failed the mental ABILITY tests."

How novel, a guy fishing for idiots, and then promoting his results. No doubt, folks like beaglebuddy are getting a lot of lift from it. One thing is crystal clear to me though, there are many average folks that are unhappy with the huge number of guns in this country, to include the nuts that worship them. |

All rubbish, women and blacks never had rights so they weren't restored, they were granted.
Gun ownership rates have steadily been going downward since the 60's http://www.nytimes.com/2013/03/10/us/rate-of-gun-ownership-is-down-survey-shows.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0
On an individual basis one can of course have rights taken away and re-established but we are talking about the nation as a whole, overall, not individual cases that are exceptions to the overall trend.
Your individual rights and privacy under Obama have been disappearing at a faster rate than ever before. Not even debatable.
"Right to genetic research" Where in the bill of rights is that spelled out?
"I think America is much more free than it once was because folks go to the ballot box" Voting rates have been up and down over the last 100 years but currently we are not at the rate from 1960, previous to 100 years ago rates were much higher.
"Minority groups voted in the last cycle" Minority groups voted because they had a chance to get one of their own elected, and they want their free stuff. |
