I believe it is the natural tendency for large organizations to become corrupt. The Vatican down to local school boards and everything in between. Let's face it, most successful people got there through greed or desire for political power.

Most high net worth guys I know are miserable, however my gardener is as happy as a guy could be. Does this mean we don't need rich guys? No, we need them badly.

Size of Govt? The size has doubled since 1999. We were doing pretty well back then. Both Bush and O have stolen from our childrens futures, and this printing money thing is a hidden tax on the poor. He just didn't raise their rates. The wealthy have their money growing at 12% in the market, while the poor have had negative income growth.

Define "greed".

Do Gates, Buffett, Marcus, Branson, Leno, etc. seem miserable?

Greed and lust for power are not things that make people happy. I don't know about those guys, I do know about many of the powerful guys who live around me. And universally, their gardeners are happier people.

But you're dodging the question, "What is greed?"
One TR host has asked his national audience that question for decades without one valid answer yet. It's not a riddle; it's a serious question, considering how often and how critically it is used.

I know some rich guys too and none of them are as satisfied and content as a guy I know who sleeps on the street in Mumbai.
When folks in Mexico talk about the "good years" in the US they mean the same time before 1999 you mentioned.
In Thailand they insist on men spending a time, often a year, as monks who have nothing and beg food each day. Even the king and his advisors and playboy son spent some time in orange robes. It is intended to teach you that an actual good life is hard to purchase.
Very few people die wishing they had spent more time at the office.

Greed? ..... Solomon had it all, but was wise enough to understand, and lament.

'Vanity of vanities; all is vanity.'

Truer words have not been spoken. Guys I work with print money, and they are all miserable. When I walk out of the office to hit the water at 2, they all look at me like I'm a freak, and I just smile thinking of 30kts, Logo high.
