The way magazines are dropping out of the print business, you'd be taking a crap shoot subscribing to any magazine.
And that goes for newspapers as well.

I've had a long time subscription to our local newspaper for years, but just the Sunday paper only. About 2 years ago, the paper called me up to ask me if I'd like to receive the Thursday thru Sunday paper for no extra charge. No extra charge!?! So I had to ask....
"What's the hitch?"
"We have to print a minumum of newspapers to make running the presses worth it, and we always have these leftover papers that nobody wants, so would you like to have a copy of those for free?"
"Sure, why not?"

Been getting the Thurs. thru Sun. paper now for a couple of years for just the price of the Sunday only.
So how much longer can they last with that kind of system?

Especially when the vast majority of them wear their political bias on their front pages. If I had ANY other options to our local McClatchey left wing rag for local news, I'd change in a minute. What do these papers (and Hollywood) EXPECT when they piss off half their potential readers (and viewers) every day by their blatant bias in either direction? Just by shoving their biases up their butts and printing balanced news and factually based balanced opinions they might double their readership.

I salivate over mailed solicitations to subscribe to Time, the NYT, etc. I grab my bold red and black pens, tear them open, tell them what I think of them, stuff it in their pre-paid return envelopes, and rip them new ones at their expense.

One wonders why isobars can't contain himself and save such rants for the iWindsurf political /off topic forum.

Goods news, sounds like Windsport is still going. Here's the response I got Monday.

Thanks for the email. Your copy of Windsport should arrive within the next week or so as the magazines were recently mailed out.

Thanks, Ilissa
