North mast - viper

I picked up two sets of these mast for $50 each. one new one used just a couple times. i think these were more euro thing? made for drops? anyone sailed on these.

Hi, North and Powerex experimented with the "Drop Shape" (note: it has nothing to do with Drops whatsoever) about 7-10 years ago and eventually gave up to true skinnies.
The idea was to have the strength of a "Skinny" but not have to use a Skinny mast base.
It's a great mast and you got a smokin' deal on them.

I've had my 400 North mast with the drop shape for 4 years now. It's fine, but the boom area is a midsize, so you gotta do some shimming to get a solid connection. I use 3 layers of duct tape.
