Well, after a week off sailing, Berkeley gives us that same o same o.....
Got there and it's marginal so we rig 7's.
3/4 thru it comes up and we rig 6.5's....
3/4 thru it goes back to needing 7's....
Hit the water expecting little, but got 24+ for almost an hour.
Come in to rig 5.5...
Wind promptly dies to 16...
Same o, same o.....

Sailed Natural Bridges. Nice medium long period swell. Wind gusty and stong on the outside and weak and gusty near shore. Lots and lots of dolphins on the outside. One sea otter on the inside. Up to half a dozen surfers at times, but usually around four. I am feeling like I got some exercise. Now for a steak and a beer. Good day!

Brief planing on 6.4 after an easy enough water start, then erratic. Harness mishap opened a rip in the sail... bummer. I had something rigged not quite right anyway, and this sail should have been on the 460 SDM that I didn't bring. It works on a 430 RDM with long extension, but behaves better on the 460.

Two other people went out on 6+, several kites up.

Hour and a half sailing formula gear. Ninth day of the year so far, could have been fifteen. There is a point to big gear that gets you to where the wind is and has a very broad wind range. 10.0 worked in averaging 15 to averaging 23.

First day of the year. Mis-rigged sail (it's been over 4 months), and spent only 5 mins sailing out, then the sail slipped down the mast and took me 20 mins to get back in with a flapping sail.

"Stuff like this always happens on the first few days", I was told. Was cool, but definitely not chilly at 4pm.

Back next weekend for more punishment.

Heard it was a good sudden day Monday.
Tuesday S winds shifting to SE, the light time around 4, when I got my hour in on a 6.5 and 102 board, just powered 99%, water still cold, air getting colder, hands getting a little sensitized.

Didn't get out today, but today's the first day that iWindsurf is blowing up my phone with windalerts! 33g37 at 3rd! Saw a few people in the parking lot, so I'm glad some people got some of it. For those who were out in the bay today, how cold did it feel?

With daylight saving next week - seems that spring has sprung!

woot woot

Blown of the water at the Stick

Had to start out the season on my smallest stuff .
Got there early around 1 three people out . There were zones
were it must have been hitting 50 in the gusts.
half a dozen of the usual locals hitting it for shorter than usual sessions.
