First day of the year. Mis-rigged sail (it's been over 4 months), and spent only 5 mins sailing out, then the sail slipped down the mast and took me 20 mins to get back in with a flapping sail.

"Stuff like this always happens on the first few days", I was told. Was cool, but definitely not chilly at 4pm.

Back next weekend for more punishment.

Heard it was a good sudden day Monday.
Tuesday S winds shifting to SE, the light time around 4, when I got my hour in on a 6.5 and 102 board, just powered 99%, water still cold, air getting colder, hands getting a little sensitized.

Didn't get out today, but today's the first day that iWindsurf is blowing up my phone with windalerts! 33g37 at 3rd! Saw a few people in the parking lot, so I'm glad some people got some of it. For those who were out in the bay today, how cold did it feel?

With daylight saving next week - seems that spring has sprung!

woot woot

Blown of the water at the Stick

Had to start out the season on my smallest stuff .
Got there early around 1 three people out . There were zones
were it must have been hitting 50 in the gusts.
half a dozen of the usual locals hitting it for shorter than usual sessions.

Coyote Point beat me up. I think I spent almost all of my time in the water and the mud getting thrown around. I felt like I was riding a bull. Rigged a 4.2, I think a 3 would have been plenty for me.

Water was OK. I sailed in January and it was cold then.

Oh and I stepped in a half eaten sea gull, it looked like a Safeway rotisserie chicken from the previous night, except with white feathers. Note sure if that or the slog through the mud was worse.

If you like 3.7 conditions , a solid ebb , spectacular scenery, and zero crowds, then Tomales Bay was a nice place on Friday.

I thought you were a wave guy Boggs. Malibu was light wind sailing with head high surf breaking at county line. Today it's already windy...

Low tide, so Hart's. U/p on 5.7, maybe 3 seconds of barely planing, another guy was doing better on 6.5.

Two sailing, two deciding not to.

Better than not sailing.
