Berkeley was great. Warm (for me) water*... warm air* while the sun was out. Nothing but friendly faces.
Was on 6.2. Came in to rig down as it was trending up.
Looked like it shut down and went back out on 5.7 to catch some dregs.
Up and down had me lose out when re-rigging; but today was the first day I was out riding, looked upwind and saw the golden gate and the SF skyline. No complaints here.
* - take "warm" with a grain of salt... I'm new to the sunshine state |

Oh, THAT was you!
Glad you made it out. We'd sailed for 2 hours straight the day before, so yesterday was picking out and ordering tiles for a fireplace cover. Still a bit stiff, mainly from the 3/8th planing and holding a 7, but from old age and lack of practice also. I'm the guy limping around and barely able to stand up.
Yeah, the crowd is great, at all THREE of the launch sites. The upper, CSC, has some competitve freestyler's who usually travel to find more wind.
The lowest at the trees and showers are mostly confirmed EastBay guys who've sailed here for 28 years. Mostly speeders on real Slalom gear.
You were at the "racers" lot, mostly a mix of dedicated Formula racers and freerider's who don't really travel to other spots for wind. |

Well, I suppose it might have been me? Was out from His Lords on orange North 7.0 at 1:45PM - 2:45 PM yesterday/Monday. Best day this year here for me - only one of course.....
Mostly kiters until Ross and Seth showed up.
Glad I had a hot tub to retire to subsequently - brrrrrr

If 6'6" fits your def, then yes - and we did indeed.
Now nursing some plantar fasciitis as result of too much tennis. Fortunately, WS doesn't seem to aggravate it - especially given 9 days in a row at Los Barriles last month. Sure prefer water/air temps there!
See you on the water again soon I trust.
Cheers, David |
