The operative phrase here is "I've read."

Pueno, you seem like a very intelligent guy. You're response above is one of the weakest I seen from you. Refute the statements using facts and stay away from name calling will make me give your opinions the respect they probably deserve. |

The US suports over 40% of the entire world's military spending (five times as much as the next country - China). We need to spend more? Or, is our military "weak" because it is inefficient?
I say we need to put EVERY department on a budget, including the military. I do not agree with draconian cuts now, but a long term and planned reduction in spending is required. We have some big bills coming due on healthcare for seniors...we will need every dime. |

Not if radical Islam, North Korea, Iran, China, Russia, or ... hell ... Berkeley or Belize ... perceive correctly that we cannot or will not defend ourselves. Of course our DOD should be more efficient (the Rumsfeld doctrine, among others), but massive across the board cuts don't automatically achieve that.
Capetonian, your "pueno sounds intelligent" implies one of two things:
1. You are not.
2. He has changed 1,000% since I had to dump him years ago. |

I would, if Mikey provide any genuine factual information.
Instead, he supplied his personal opinion:
"...suicidally insane..."
"...complete lack of comprehension..."
"...media echo chamber..."
So, I voiced my opinion.
Mikey's simply fear- and hate-mongering.
Where in that post did I name-call?

Aww, Mikey, you're just pissed because I keep poking fun at your free cash entitlement from a government that you so despise.

I guess you are a big boy and can stand up for yourself as I won't bother going forward. |

capetonian, I bet you didn't expect isobars to come around and viciously bite like that. Sadly, it says much about him and why he receives a lot of grief around here. |

What other conclusions (plural) are possible given his incessant childish behavior when others are trying to have an adult conversation? He has occasionally demonstrated the existence of an IQ, but like the others of his ilk, he overwhelmingly goes for the cheap shot instead of rational discourse. Even a 50/50 mix would be acceptable, but 90% "pull my finger" stuff is for grade school from my perspective. It's thus by his own choice that I don't get to appreciate his brighter side. If he said something intelligent and relevant this time, you're welcome to post it for my response. |

No, Mikey, I've not changed one iota.
I've always been opposed to hypocrisy and deceit. But at the time, I focused on someone else. (Ironically, he and I sometime trade cordial email these days, although he occasionally needs a reminder to be civil.)
Now, it's fun to focus on someone who's the textbook definition of hypocrisy and deceit: you, a chronic hater, liar, and fear monger.

Where's the rational discourse in this?
"...suicidally insane..."
"...complete lack of comprehension..."
"...media echo chamber..."
You open yourself up for a well-deserved cheap shot at every turn.
(And you hate that I remind you about your free government cash handout.)
