That shrine to American capitalism, the stock market, is up to 14K today. Not bad for the end of the free world. |

Dont rub it in, JP. When Obama the Marxist got elected I put the last few bucks I had left from the Bush crash under my mattress, and I missed the greater than 100% rally of the past four years. darn it. |

Of course, our pathetic cancer-ridden, dirt bike riding whiner was a war profiteer. Let's look at how much war profiteers contributed to get John McCain to use their talking points. http://maplight.org/content/73043
Hmm, $28 million over a decade, and a particularly heavy--and recent--spate of contributions to the 7 senators that they are counting on to beat up Hagel.
And is there money to be made, even if you are inept? You betcha. Poke around a little about General Dynamics--which got a $4 billion boost for submarines. Boy we've really been using those lately. They have an annual revenue stream of $30 billion--70% from the government. Sounds like socialism to me. http://www.dodbuzz.com/2013/01/09/general-dynamics-gets-4-billion-underwater-boost/
Of course, they posted a $2 billion plus loss: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424127887323539804578259621541620846.html See also http://defense.aol.com/2013/01/23/debt-limits-general-dynamics-defense-industry-braces/
Of course, they are the contractor of the ill-fated M-1 tank. Sounds good, a ship building company should definitely be first in line to build a tank. We used those in the first Iraq war--but are they the future of the military?
Somebody has to look at what we need to be safe, and mobile, and not what the defense contractors need to keep campaign contributions rolling in for McCain. It costs $1 million a year to keep a soldier in the field. But does that make America more prosperous than spending $100,000 to have an ex-soldier help repair America's infrastructure? |

Boggsy--thread hijacked by our Richland fascist to attack Hegel. Simply asking people to follow the money as to why the defense industry has its stooges attacking Hegel. |

I'll spare you (and my fingers) the details, but Congressional inquiry into the BSer-in-Chief's sequester threats and the claims from his agency chiefs of impacts that had allegedly already happened are falling like flies in a DDT cloud. Just one example: The CDC had claimed insufficient immunizations doses in some zone. Under cross examination, he caved and admitted it wasn't true. Ditto with claim after threat after lie.
Yet you lefties blindly support this POS. |

I knew it Boggs. If you had been a conservative, you'd have tripled your money! But seriously, this guy has brought us back to an over-inflated asset bubble. (not the stock market, but the real estate market) I think the market has another 5% before it blows up. TBT anybody??? |

Changing the subject a bit, but it fits in this thread perfectly.
It's about damn time that somebody stands up to support freedom, liberty, the Constitution, and most of all, the Bill of Rights.
I've never considered myself that much of a Paul supporter (take your pick which one), but I'm really proud of what the Senator did.
Almost 13 hours w/o ever leaving his feet.
Sen. Paul declares victory after Holder offers assurance on drones~

Oh my goodness, the nation is saved again! If Rand hadn't selflessly donated his time for such a noble cause, we would all be doomed. No doubt, this will down in the history books. Hell, when was the last time a Republican actually got on stage and put on a talking filibuster? That took real courage. I'm sure that his fellow Kentuckian, Senator McConnell, duly took notice. |
