Okay, so here's your big chance to talk about what sail brand you like and why-even if it IS just for the colors.
So, cough it up-let's hear your preference.
Neil Pryde? Simmer? Maui? Severne? Hot Sails? North? Howza 'bout Northwave?
Or Ezzy, or Gaastra?
Whatever.......let's hear it.

I like Northwave........... and Sailworks. My Gorge quiver is Nothwave,
and my Utah quiver is Sailworks. But I'm not much of a "Talker"

I'm a believer in product testing reports. I subscribe to Consumer Reports, and use that as a guide for all major purchases with excellent results. Back when there used to be an American published windsurfing magazine, they did board reviews and those have helped me tremendously.
Equipment is so good now, that it's probably kinda hard to get a crummy board. _________________ Kansas City |

Just search the forum with keyword Northwave posted by isobars. That's my 2 cents and I'm stickin' with it. |

I think that it's pretty hard to go wrong with the majority of sail brands out there, but if I could recommend anything, it would be getting the appropriate masts with the correct bend curve to match with the sails. Even if you don't go with the highest carbon content models, having the correct bend curve and using the recommended mast lengths will guarantee great performance overall. |

For my older slalom boards, the Sailworks Hucker wins hands down.
It's as fast as the race sails I used over the past 25 years (that includes Prismas, World Cup Races). Easy to rig without all the tinkering, strong and tough. They key here is I can select a high draft for the forward mast tracks or bring it down with more tension for the newer boards with aft tracks.
For newer boards one wave board and one FSW (1999's - 2001 ) all sail brands are great in proper usage in SF Bay/Delta.
What's strange is the Hucker has brought more water time to the old school boards. Either I love the power and speed or I'm trying to re-capture my youth.

Because sail shapes have a lo to do with the way they feel and what you can do with them.
Since we are in the bay area(where being under powered is not and issue) most people these days are favoring wave or free style sails or some kind of crossover. There is so much to select from but in general we have flattish freestyle wave sails and deeper draft sails with a lot of grunt.
I used to favor Ezzys for there bullet proof construction until they went deep draft. I still think they are best built sail out there. But if of you want to do freesytle or want a sail that will luff they are much harder to deal with.
I'm pretty happy with the Maui Legends and Ghost I have. |

Ezzy Panther III's now, I go back to Ezzy SE's before, and for years.
Very rangey and strong for hard variable surf conditions, and that's all they get from me, they've served me well.
Thinking about getting a Tiger or two for light wind surf stuff, 5.8 or bigger, they are lighter weight, could be a good call.
I also like the 4 banger 'Elites' that are out now, but I have no more room, or a desire to work on getting a goiter down. Elites are great for tricks on the waves. |

I have both Ezzy and Hot Sails Maui
they are different but are both exceptional at what they do.
Ezzys have a huge range and are built really tough.
Hot Sail s have the Superfreak which is magic _________________ K4 fins

consumer reports on digital cameras picked a Kodak as best buy, had problems a plenty
replaced with a Canon, ****.
C/Reports seem to do well with snow tires, washing machines and the annual auto issue for a resource.
totaly understand that no one hits a home run each time at bat _________________ K4 fins
