But what are the alternatives to Thai boards?
Taiwan gave up the ghost.
Slovenia also.
Algeria still producing AHD's, or was that really Tunisia?
Italy producing RRD's?

Oh, I guess Taiwan helped China set up board production, is it making boards yet? Besides kayaks and fishing dinghies.

Would love to, and I was a surfboard builder (shaper) for 7 years.
BUT, everything being custom, you never know what you're gonna get.
Not that you know how a production/custom WORKS, but you know it's shape and try to make an educated guess.
OK, we can get custom, US made high wind boards (which I hate the way they work) or Formula boards, which are educated copies of Starboard prototypes.
I need a good slalom/freeride, for 5 meters to 7 meter sails.

Doesn't ThermoLaminates operate out of Slovenia? Boardworks surfboards, and in the past, Seatrend.
Are you sure about Vietnam? For sure, THAILAND, which is 2 countries to the left of Vietnam.
Where did JamesChen relocate his production facility to? Mainland or Vietnam?
Who makes RRD's?

Come on LeeD, all you have to do is get on Mike's list. It's not like getting something for nothing, but you know that you can get what you're looking for no problem. The only problem might be the wait. If you're light on the pocketbook or impatient, there's always those Mike's Lab boards that are a few years old with a bit of mileage on them.

I haven't bought a new board since '98.
Retired, under $600 a month income, and I own over 15 board currently, so it's hard to justify another one.
G/F bought a Futura111 5 months ago, it's OK, nothing more.
