So what's the reason you log?

For my memoirs and for the historians. Oh, and the library to be dedicated in my name.

If it's fun for you, because of the geekery, then I understand. I make
sailing videos, you guys write applications. I get that (even though
I'm a hardware engineer). And, if you actually use the data, to get you
on the water more, which promotes more joy, then I say dweeb away!

I don't get any joy out of a log, so I've given them up. (But now you've
got me thinking about a little FPGA design for logging sailing based on
automated environmental input) ;*)

An easy way to log is also to use a Garmin GPS watch and upload to their GarminConnect service (which even let's you see your animated course in google earth).
If you're really sick, you could then even export from the GarminConnect service to a spreadsheet that you could then merge with your other wind/weather and equipment-used spreadsheets! But that wouldn't leave much time for windsurfing Smile

According to noshuzbluz, that means you don't like music, comedy or day dreaming, either. (BTW, you may be alone in that; I never said I didn't log mine.)
