Just a heads up but on the 1st the new crossing for going south at TJ will be open full time. You have to do a hard right turn, which could be a problem with big rigs, so be in the left lane.

This will a be a better crossing.

Also you can not get your visas till about the 5th at that part of the crossing, though it is reported you can park and walk back to old crossing. I suggest till the 5th if you need a visa you go to Otay Mesa. I have directions for that crossing on the site too.

the US side has not changed for going north, they are updating it so construction is in progress. But that does not effect the regular routine.


I suggest taking HWY 2000 in TJ and crossing at Otay Mesa instead, I have pretty good directions with pictures on the same website under travel:: by land:: north to otay mesa by great road 2000. You can also take this road 2000 to tacate, have those maps instruction pictures too.
