It was a sweet summer of sailing in Redwood City, SF Bay Area.

Nicely done! The joys of big sails, too many wind snobs missing out on a really nice sailing experience!

I have not sailed there in many years.
Where do you launch?

nice video; perfect music match. I sail a 7.4 off Emeryville on light days. I keep telling the adrenaline junkies at TI that light wind sailing can't be compared to the white-knuckles crazySh$$ that demands a .45 but still well worth the trouble. Any sailing is better than no sailing.

I like to compare it to driving down the Pacific Coast Highway. Its fun to go 120 in your Ferrari, but it's also fun to cruise along at 55 in your Cadillac convertible. It's smooth and comfortable, and things happen more slowly so it's not as frantic. My sails go from 3.4 to 8.2, and I love using them all!

The video was shot with wind ranging from 12-18 knots depending if I was inside the harbor or outside in bay, there are about 3 days of sailing cut in there. I was on a 170L old Exocet Formula board with 7.8 sq-m old North 4 batten sail, 60cm fin.

We see you out in Redwood City often. I have a 17 foot trimaran that we buzz around in. I have always wanted to take a board out to the harbor entrance and launch off Bair Island into the bay. The water is so warm there and this summer, the winds were hitting 20 quite often.

Nice. I used to sail a cat similar the one at the start when I was a teenager. Lots of fun, but clearly the windsurfer is much faster. And in very light windows where a windsurfer might still move, you're dead in the water. To the best of my knowledge, there's nowhere on the bay to rent cats like that (wind at Lake Merritt is a complete joke, and hobies are hokey toys IMO); and that's part of the reason I took up windsurfing.
