I'd like to see the big guns there...
EDIT - To put things in perspective:
Took readings from 10am to 3pm, that's 5 hours.
Base wind is 47.3mph (lowest 42, highest 55)
Average gust is 60mph (lowest 54, highest 70), gusts were reported up to 77mph in the area.
So over 5 hours:
- It was Force 9 at a minimum (force 9 = 47–54 mph)
- Force 9-10 most of the time
- And was force 10 (55–63 mph) to 11 (64–73 mph) at times
An idea of what it may look like:

Although, they probably wouldn't be able to get their gear to the beach!
The Box Butte County Sheriff's Department responds to an overturned truck on the Heartland Expressway overpass near Berea, Neb., 10 miles north of Alliance, on Thursday morning. High winds hit the area Tuesday and persisted through Thursday. Winds on the overpass were clocked as high as 77 mph.

Dust Storm and Car Pile Up Closes Part of I-80 and Highway 30
The National Weather Service in North Platte says parts of Interstate 80 and Highway 30 are closed west of Big Springs due to dust storm and a car pile up.
Nebraska State Patrol reports that Nebraska 26 is also closed from Lewellen to Ogallala due to reduced visibility.

Unfortunately I think they know better there and have their things pretty well secured.
I've seen cows lay down and face their head downwind all in the same direction, quite interesting. Then I know it's gonna be good!
