Srufalex, I tend to agree with most who say that you could fix it yourself but the amount of money you would save depends greatly on the power tools you already own or can access freely. Yes, you could do all the work by hand, but that's a great deal of finessed internal work to beef up the structure and hours and hours and hours of sanding. The less experience a laminator has, the greater experience in sanding the laminator will gain.

The weight of your board will also suffer greatly unless you manage to get the perfect saturation ratio. That's not as easy as it sounds. Most repair people already have a flat lamination table topped with glass or plexi that produces bubble-free saturation from the three-step process of wetting out a panel. You certainly can find a flat surface like cardboard to do small pieces, but you will discover only after the piece fails to fully cure that the cardboard absorbed some of the hardener.

If you want to fix your board, go for it. The process can be very rewarding, but know that your repair may not be light let alone safe.

I say support the industry and go buy a new board. Hell, go buy a used one for $300

nail that thing to the wall, laugh and enjoy some beers with your bros while thinking of all the great sessions

I hope you didn't drive far out of your way to see about getting that repaired. Sheesh.

I had a car that accidentally got caught in a car crusher. After getting some estimates to fix the damage and knowing it would have a salvaged title, I decided not to have it repaired.
