Hi forum. New to windsurfing. Starting by attaching as small a windsurfing sail that I can find to my skateboard. I've acquired aluminum masts & wishbones ( 15+ years old ). I cannot find anybody that sells the extension that will fit within these masts ( 2" OD, 1.925" ID ) that will allow me to connect with a mast base ( have EX pin ). Anybody know of somebody that sells or what I should modify to work ?

Thanks Sven

Are u sure you have windsurfing masts?
All modern bases fit, some might need the plastic cap/collar to be adjusted/removed/replaced.
What company mast, color, length, be exact.

Your mast appears to be modern STD diameter at it's base.
So most modern mast base extensions will fit, except for NP, Streamlined, Fiberspar, and a few others that don't need plastic collars that increase the diameters.
Buy a Chinnook, pop off the top cap, but now you need to use old style adjusters.
Buy a WH, gold tube, should work as is. No euro style works, as they all are big diameter, bigger than fits in your mast.

joethewindsufa,

I'm not sure what it should look like, but thanks for attaching a photo.

zirtaeb,

Definately a windsurfer mast. Got it from friend who used the equipment 18+ years ago. Mistral is the brand based on the wishbone.

Just spoke with Isthmus Sailboards who said that current standard extensions should fit. Thanks for answering.

zirtaeb,

I think you are answering me in your latest post. STD extensions for both US and EP measure 48mm inner diameter according Isthmus website so I don't understand "No euro style works" ? What is WH, gold tube ?

Glad you got an answer.
Problem here is you are asking if.... does my 1992 carbuerator fit my car? Without specifying WHAT carb and WHAT car.
Your mast should be gold colored. If it's the black ones, it's early '90's and some mast extentions don't fit inside because the inner diameter is slightly smaller.
Depending on WHICH mast extension you buy, it might or might not work.
Euro extensions are bigger in diameter and do not use a shim which makes up the size difference, so they won't fit, like Streamlined won't.

apologize in advance for hi jack here

this is the extension that I use on my long board which stays in Maine.
It does function remarkable well especially with the super slippery line , the base need to be used to fit the hole of this relic board.

Does something like in the previous photo seem possible to do here, where I have a pulley on the bottom and maybe some longer extension as well ?

I did re-rig the rope this season and the board will not take much larger than the 5.8 Superfreak I used, its perfect actually.

It would downhaul and rig easier if modern. So would it work if the lower end were adapted ..?

Cheers

What exactly are you asking?
You can use the black N tube, if you get a N mast base to fit atop the mechanical joint.
Or, you can use your normal mast base with that foot, if you add a new mast base atop your mechanical joint.
