We don't know whether your foot pain will get better or worse with continued sailing, but you should find out starting in about two months. Sad

My L arch has hurt all summer during and for a few days after sailing.
Beats not sailing.

The best solution so far for me has been wide straps, wide as in front to back, like these:

They spread the load, lessening the PSI at the sore spot.
I've not tried this brand, but I do have piles of several other brands of wide kite straps that feel really good to the top of my feet.

My kite straps are similar to that, they dont feel ideal though, my feet tend to get wedged into them. The daking slimlines are also pretty wide, I was worried their hardness might cause problems, but nothing so far. I think ill try some squishier conventional straps I have too.

Mine got worse over the weekend.
Basically my footstrap is touching my foot on too small of an area. Now I have a lump on top of my tendon which makes it worse since this area rubs even more. Good thing I have the week to recover!

Just bought some Dakine Vario Contours, tested only in underpowered 7.0, I found them to be exceptional!
They gave me better control of the board and I found them to be easier to get out of at the jibe. Really happy with them so far.

The Tricktionary guys have put out some pretty cushie-looking straps called "Trickstraps". If experiencing issues, these could also be worth a try...

Here's more info:

They are covered. For me, that rules them out ... way too much hassle to adjust.

In other news... I flipped my kiteboard straps around the other way and they are way better now. But the best help has been 3 weeks of near non stop sailing, after my current 4 days in a row of east winds my feet seem to have toughened up, or maybe my technique has improved or maybe both...

Or maybe you've changed your diet, not consuming as much uric acid, and your gout is slowing going away.
Ever consider that?

Wanted to give a quick update on the vario (kite version of core contours), they don't work with booties because of the bulk. The rear footstrap is fine.

Although I like the stretch, at times it felt like I wasn't able to make the board do what I want it to do (when overpowered). I have seen the supremo's but not tried them, they seem wider than most footstraps and cover more area on the feet. Primo's seem ok but not as "enveloping".

So for the fronts I'll try the core contours, supremo's or the trickionary ones.
