The Cabrillo Sensor went belly up Monday night. With both Cabrillo sensors now gone we have no way of knowing the local wind. A quick fix would be appreciated..........

Bad news....must've been too windy

Special Note: 10/2/12: Structural failure! We've lost contact with our station at Cabrillo after the pole supporting our instruments fell over. We are awaiting word on the situation and will be updating this message with more information soon.

Hi Gang,

In case you did not get the word about the other sensor near Cabrillo on the Nav. Aid:

"The USCG has removed the Cabrillo navigation aid. They intend to replace the aid, and when they do, we will re-install. We apologize for the inconvenience."

I know all of this is really bad timing but we do not own the land or the structures that our sensor masts are attached to so we can not maintain those structures or even fix them when they fail. So now we have to wait until the powers that be fix both of the structures.

Meanwhile use windalert.com since there are other sensors in the area that are of some use.
