Man, the cherry picked NOAA forecast above was right on the money.
When it comes to sailing at Skaket, the more agessive ocean side forecast seems to be more accuate.
Friends, wind, temps, tide, direction, timing, cloud cover (lessened the afternoon glare) all just about perfect.
Boardsurfr and I against 2 local kiters
As good as it gets; thanks Peter for making the trip

Since when does a NW wind pick up after 3pm? Yep, right after I leave the beach...was at Corp. Too late to get the early session, JE , got some.
There to rig up when it picked back up for a short time, only to have it drop as soon as myself and Ed got out. Slog, and barely enough to waterstart. Then leave, get home, look at chart, it's blowing in the mid 20's
Argh !!!. Glad you got, though, Ron. |

That's exactly what I was thinking - NW never picks up in the PM - wass up with that...
Ended up in Rhody surfing perfect head high super glassy lefts until dark
Only the bonefire on the beach to guide us back - how cool is that ! |

That was a very nice surprise, I showed up at chapin flower beach @4:30 and it was blowing sand. Met a nice girl who was tripping her face off on something and kept trying to talk to me, since I wasn't responding she went back to talking to herself. (reminded me to make sure the car is locked this time of year). Sailed until sunset with a couple other lucky late comers. |
