I'm thinking FULL ON MORON a THON....
Lobster pots was breaking the other day,,,,that's an easy get

WE may have to build a shelter....CG will go if there is sun and early flow

I can involve the boat at any time in the process....
All part of my diabolical plan for solo sesh of the year,,,just me with the Teach watching

Is Nauset Public an ok sail at low tide, in South wind? I've only been there in NNE. I gather South wind is more reliable at Nauset vs. Coast Guard, but it doesn't provide the sand bars for excellent wave riding.

And how far a walk to get to good wave sailing from the CG parking lot? At least you can sail back, right?

It's looking like building wind through the day for Saturday, starting SSE and going to SSW later. The SSW looks strong after 3:00 or so.

That is why I was thinking down winder. You get all the best breaks that way. Nauset to Coast Guard.
Not much of a walk at all at Coast Guard less than HN.
Oh and half way to Coast Guard we can grab a beer out of Outcasts cooler!!!! Laughing

You don't even have to park it that far away. The Doane Rock day area is just up the street and not a bad walk. I still think the down winder would be fun. The hardest part about down the line sailing is staying up wind or walking your stuff back up for that matter.
Who's in?
It is 4 miles from Nauset Parking lot to Coast Guard Parking lot.

don't you need wind?

4 mile shlog in shark infested waters ......

Actually I am sure "they" are gone......This big bull seal looks at me today, I am outside him, and he turns scarfs the wave in front, and rides it to the beach....like "you suck, i can do this anytime...." I saw his back in the wave the whole time....very cool he was purely having fun. Actually, the Marconini was a ball, but quite steep.

As of Fri night 11pm my favorite model is saying noon is a good time to get on it for outer Cape sailing.

http://weather.rap.ucar.edu/model/displayMod.php?var=ruc_sfc_wind&hours=hr10hr11hr12hr13hr14hr15hr16hr17hr18

I'd be up for the downwinder if conditions look right. Will re-assess in the morning, but for now my thinking is to arrive Nauset by noon.
