Good point. Can someone tell me why the "liberal "press gave us years of Clinton and five minutes of Bush Sr. affair?
Money.
They publish what sells in nearly every choice of news in all these outlets, though they are almost entirely GOP owned.
Fox will turn flaming liberal in a heartbeat if folks don't watch the ads so they can hear pundits lie on the right.
Want to hear those same media whores start to spout liberal nonsense?
Write Limbaugh a big enough check and he will run for dogcatcher on the democratic ticket.
Loonies in this country won't listen to that liberal crap all right.
They listen to far right TR. That makes it easy to identify the loonies.

I have to say there is a huge difference in money issues for a dem vs a righty. while I have no doubt any righty would sell his mother to a whorehouse for money, dems just would not do it. That is why the worlds largest crimes are always rightys/authoritarians. Just in the USA we have record admissions of corruption by defense contractors (you can not say these are liberal) we have record fraud by drug companies and again these are right wing, we have record fraud by the healtcare, the republican gov of florida company was fined 600 million, abramoff 70 million, Ney, 2 million dukester several repugnats convicted of phone jamming in an election. and the best with a 6 to one rovian in-justice department was a dem that had 50k in his freezer and bloggo Bloggo was looking for barely anything. Clinton a BJ and no money involved. Think if we had partisan liberal federal prosecutors... think is the special prosecutor in the Nixon or arms for hostiges cases would have been partisan liberals. why are all the prosecutors right wingers on right wingers.

the Bush senior one would have played great for making money in the media because she was an officer. an officer in the military having an affair is a court marshal offense. can you imagine that hearing and so on as a circus...

I'm aligned with your thesis.... I agree....

But one of the rabid righties should start frothing, "JON CORZINE."

Jon, well it appears he was correct on his bet. He made his position that Europe would not allow EU countries like Greece to fall completely. and if he is correct they stood to make bank. His bet was a reasonable one. I do not know if they pulled out of that position but it was a knowledgeable bet.

No jury would convict him if he is correct and to date Greece was bailed out. and the point being it was not using insider trading of having accounting firms sign off on cooked books.

Operation Mockingbird 2012: NYT Writer Leaked Story Critical of Obama to CIA

http://carlbernstein.com/magazine_cia_and_media.php
Quote:

After leaving The Washington Post in 1977, Carl Bernstein spent six months looking at the relationship of the CIA and the press during the Cold War years. His 25,000-word cover story, published in Rolling Stone on October 20, 1977, is reprinted below.

THE CIA AND THE MEDIA

How Americas Most Powerful News Media Worked Hand in Glove with the Central Intelligence Agency and Why the Church Committee Covered It Up

BY CARL BERNSTEIN

In 1953, Joseph Alsop, then one of America’s leading syndicated columnists, went to the Philippines to cover an election. He did not go because he was asked to do so by his syndicate. He did not go because he was asked to do so by the newspapers that printed his column. He went at the request of the CIA.

Alsop is one of more than 400 American journalists who in the past twenty‑five years have secretly carried out assignments for the Central Intelligence Agency, according to documents on file at CIA headquarters. Some of these journalists’ relationships with the Agency were tacit; some were explicit. There was cooperation, accommodation and overlap. Journalists provided a full range of clandestine services—from simple intelligence gathering to serving as go‑betweens with spies in Communist countries. Reporters shared their notebooks with the CIA. Editors shared their staffs. Some of the journalists were Pulitzer Prize winners, distinguished reporters who considered themselves ambassadors without‑portfolio for their country. Most were less exalted: foreign correspondents who found that their association with the Agency helped their work; stringers and freelancers who were as interested in the derring‑do of the spy business as in filing articles; and, the smallest category, full‑time CIA employees masquerading as journalists abroad. In many instances, CIA documents show, journalists were engaged to perform tasks for the CIA with the consent of the managements of America’s leading news organizations.

Don't know, don't care, use Google. The issue at hand is capitalism vs self-professed and thoroughly demonstrated Marxism. The rest is minutiae.

No, it's not.

The issue here is self-professed extreme greed vs. a balanced approach of capitalism and social responsibility.

You rabid righties try to paint all Americans who don't subscribe to your rightie extremist madness as far left liberal loonie Marxists.

But you're wrong.

Most are in the middle, are rational, and are liberal socially-aware capitalists. "Businessmen with a heart and a mind."

And for a whackadoo, you're funny. Laughing Laughing Laughing

well put...

and owning the media the propaganda can be controlled. That is why the CEOs do not go to jail. A great example of that right now is Sheldon Addleson is trying to buy a president that will let him off his crimes. No different than the CEO of enron was the largest contributor to Bush. No different than coal companies buying/funding with huge funds advertising in elections State Supreme court justice to allow them to get away with polluting more than less.

again the russians controlled their media and our media is controlled by right wing corporations.

For a dem to win an election they must give hundreds of millions of dollars to right wing owned media that uses that money to air propaganda for free. Look at Fox, it is like going to russia and the politic of the authoritarians.
