I am shopping for booms, i have a bad feeling about my current carbon boom. I am getting a kind of "pistoning" on one side (just a 1/2 inch or so) of the back end.

Is any one familiar with this older naish hybrid boom?

Is it a good compromise between alloy and carbon or just a more expensive boom with alloy qualities?

I used this on one of my friends sails on maui this summer. The head is incredibly soft so I would not recommend buying this boom.
