I see they're "Non Profit". No income, no taxes, do whatever you want. WTF?

"Non Profit" does not mean "No Income". It just means they don't carry profits within the corporation year to year. Believe me, these guys make plenty of profit and simply swallow up the profits each year in the form of huge salaries and bonuses. They also prance around like elitist snobs with "green cover" to boot.

The Non profit status also allows the participants of the events to write off the costs associated with the events. aka Tax avoidance.

If you read through the maui discussion and click the link to the video on Forbes, you will see one of the guys(participants) mentioning it briefly...

Funny, I didn't even notice the sign at The Event Site entrance proclaiming "exclusive use" day. Thought it was just another kiting event. It is, after all, "The Event Site." Smile

Parked, paddled, even enjoyed a beverage and parking on The Mai Tai'rs.
They didn't seem to mind, and I found them to be a generally enjoyable lot.

Felt bad that they spent all their doe to be in Hood River and got very little wind. Oh well.. you pays your money... you takes you chances.

Although they THINK they are a big deal - its no big deal at all. They also invaded Maui and a good number of them do not even know how to kite however they felt their presence needed to be known. Its the ego things. So we just follow the rules (they don't) and if a mishaps happens.... oops! One thing I've learned is acceptance.
