Nope, it will never blow again. Ever. You should give all your gear to me ASAP. |

It's blowing out there now on the Vineyard Sound, but I'm opting not to sail it. Two kites were visible from Menauhant, but I thought one looked like it was struggling for wind. With swollen ankles, a painful hip and shoulder, I might sell you my gear oldiemouldie, but there's no freebees here. Us Yanks are tight as a drum and famous for not cutting much for slack. |

The Kalmus windmeter readings for yesterday looked good - any reports? Today looks promising, too - models predict only 13 mph SW, but thermals should add to that. The "Meteorologist Forecast" seems way too low... |

Kalmus was ok 5.5 for me (160 lbs, on 58 cm wide 84 liter FSW board) until the wind backed off at 4:30. I got on the water at 3:00 so only had 1-1/2 hours. I think it was a bit better earlier but I didn't trust the day enough until I couldn't take it any longer and finally got in the car. Not anything spectacular, with the due south wind pinning us to shore, but nice to get out and play.
Today I bet the west side of Buzzard's will be sailable on 7.5 (for me) by mid afternoon. That would be about 14 mph avg. Some chance of better. |

After planing once the entire month of July, being on vacation on the cape this week has been awesome. Three straight days of great conditions.
Fri and sun 6.0 and 110 skate
Sat 7.0 and 145 Carve.
I wasn'table to break out my 85 liter with the 6.0 due to the lulls, but I will certainly not complain.
Cape >> central mass re wind !!

My hat goes off to the guys who came up with formula equipment. Once you get the hang of it, there's no windsurfing experience that compares. Planing in 15 mph or less on flat water compares to skiing deep powder. It's just so smooth!!!! I've had the 11 meter sail up four times this month with the Exocet Formula board. It gybes like a dream, has upwind ability that doesn't compare to any other kind of board and planes downwind like there was no tomorrow. Nevertheless, the sail has been taking it's toll on this 60+ set of shoulders. Yesterday I opted to take the bicycle out instead of windsurfing in 15 mph or less winds. I do hope we see something stronger soon. |

You know it's very bad when the odds of my wife blowing me are better than the wind doing same. |
