Unfortunately for peace of mind, too many of them are very well known ... to people who watch both sides of the news ... in which "people like Chandler" have demonstrated no interest, even an explicit disinterest actually posted as such in some cases.

Here from wikipedia is the story about Matty's source:

Quote:
Kengor is a frequent television political commentator and opinion page contributor. He is a regular featured columnist at the John Birch Society[John_Birch_Society]-affiliated Townhall.com, a conservative political website.[2] His articles have been published in mainstream newspapers such as USA TODAY and the The New York Times as well as in academic journals.

So we're supposed to believe someone that writes for the John Birch Society and thinks that evolution and Obama's birth certificate are both myths?

Get a clue, or at least a source. Techno, if you believe this kind of shit I feel really sorry for you.

Evolution is a myth. We've got living proof thereof right here on the forum.

You know mat-ty the whole right wing routine of trying to make President Obama into a Communist, Marxist or Socialist reminds me of a political game of "pin the tail on the donkey". I guess it comes down to whether I think the purpose of the game makes sense, and is genuinely worth our time. Frankly, in this scenario it's not, especially since I find nothing in Obama's presidency or leadership that comes anywhere close to being Communist, Marxist or Socialist in nature. Now, you, techno900 and isobars can think I'm dodging the issue here, and that's your choice, but that doesn't make it true.

As far as real news is concerned, I don't waste my time watching 24/7 cable news or to listening to talk radio, and that's either from right or left leaning sources. That makes me a bit different than you guys. I'm more interested in real news presented by folks that don't have an axe to grind, a target audience in mind and advertisers to please. I will say this though, I do read opinions and commentary from both the right and left, and often the commentary from readers. Whether any of it has merit, that becomes quite clear over time. Needless to say, wildly outlandish stuff loses my interest very quickly.

I thought extremist leftist stuff in my youth and conservative commentary now are fed from the same source.
Real news is uncertain and dull. The endings taper off without a satisfying climax.
Fake news like on John Stewart, Fox commentators,The Libertarian Gambler, and Talk Radio is much more interesting.
This is the Murdochs winning strategy of being in his words
" the Fox in the chicken house."
Long ago US media was as accurate as the sponsors allowed, which was dull.
He tells the same news with a spin toward the hard right and then lets the opinion part of the show dominate and seem to be news also. He drew in a big audience from the National Enquirer crowd who don't believe the news anyway. O and Bush both boring Presidents. The most interesting things you hear about them are all lies, Muslim? not born in the US? Moron? Faked his degree?

Techno claimed:

Quote:
mat-ty,

Don't you find that when a conservative strikes a nerve (what may be a valid point), either there is:

1. No response
2. Character assassination
3. Deflection (push a totally unrelated liberal point).

To be fair, conservatives do it too, but I think we do it less

On the real side, the standard trick--used here--is for the conservatives to believe some lie about Obama. When the falseness of the claim is proved, the poster ignores the rebuttal. Case in point 1, mrgybe's posting of a free phone program, attributed to the "administration" and demonstrating the need for the tea party. In fact, the program originally came out of a settlement over anti-trust lawsuit, during the Reagan Administration, and was tweaked legislatively in 1996. Nothing to do with Obama. No acknowledgement. Case in point 2, matty's previous long posting--and I think it was Pueno who showed the author was a crook. Oops. No response. Iso doesn't bother.

There is no lie that the Republican party will not tell to get back into power, and there is no outrageous story that you haters will not believe.

There you go again with the hate line again. While some may actually hate Obama, I am frankly scared of him and his politics. It's not hate, it fear.

When there is so much about Obama's education and his mentors, friends, acquaintances & pastor (most of which are scary folks in my mind), NO ONE can rightly just ignore the possibility that there is more to Obama than any of us know.

Maybe the conservative speculation is wrong, but I would never take the chance and support or vote for him. If you wallow with the pigs, some mud will likely rub off.

Least you forget, it could have been Hillary in charge and she would not have had my support either. I guess I would have been a woman hater then in your views. I also didn't vote for her hubby, so I guess I was a "cheater" hater. I worked with a fellow that married one of Bill's long time "side dishes", so his history with the ladies was well documented long before he became president.

See - No:
1. No response
2. Character assassination
3. Deflection (push a totally unrelated liberal point).

you ignored the evidence of misrepresentation here, didn't you? Fear? Hate? two sides of the same coin. Man up and choose something positive.

mac,

There may be some misrepresentation or not, it depends on what side of the fence you are on. It really doesn't matter, since conservatives won't be voting for him anyway. Since he chose to play in the pig pen, he has to deal with the dirt.

You also ignore the evidence of fact, and make the assumption that Obama's relationships with many of the "questionable types" has nothing to do with his agenda or believes. None of us really know for sure.

Not so. I ignore the mad ravings of a biased source. I advise you to do the same.
