Helped my 7 year old get on the board with the 2.5m kids rig and learn to sail across our bay and back last night. He had a tough time staying upwind but otherwise seemed to learn a lot more quickly than I did. Very cool to see his enthusiasm and excitement at such a young age. I probably witnessed windsurfing for the fist time around age ten but never tried it until my late 20s and on abysmal gear.

My son is excited to sail more this week. It was a treat to share this hobby with him

Nice to hear! Contrary to all the "is windsurfing dying" talk lately, I saw a whole bunch of little kids out on windsurfers right in front of the Event Site the other day... some were actually really good too! Always neat to see new blood coming into the sport... imagine how good those groms will be in 10 years if they stick with it!

Glad your son enjoyed it! Upwind is a challenge for beginner imho but he will get it eventually!

Great to hear. My daughter turns 6 in December. I plan to get her out next summer and will focus first and foremost on her having a good time.
