Just wanted to put this out there as a sub topic of the rescue discussion. An alternative to towing a fully rigged sail is to simply stack it inside your rig from the top, waterstart and sail it in. Might need to lower the boom of the rescued rig to keep the uni from hitting your deck. It`s a heavy rig to waterstart but with good wind it`s not that difficult and it`s amazing how easy it is to hook in and sail in on a full plane. Also works in a broken boom/mast scenario.

I haven't had the opportunity to rescue just a rig, yet.
Towed a few rigs with board and sailor, at Crissy.
