When the wind in Tomales Bay and on top of Mt. Tam is SW does that mean the eddy is in full effect? Why did the eddy disappear yesterday but not today?
Does anyone know some good links to satellite images where you can see the eddy? The satellite images on nowcast on windalert are not that high resolution.

Remember, the weather is constantly changing, going back and forth, without reason or rhyme.
We've all seen the anomoly days, when Angel is SW 25, but Rod&Gun blows thru all that nonsense. And calm Angel, but nothing at Rod even on NW days of 30, with 24 at Tomales.
Can't really predict with much accuracy this micro climate stuff.
And we've all seen days of Angel at SW30, but no wind hitting anywhere on the EastBay.

Oh Victor...
I think you sailed the beach just outside the Richmond Tunnel on a NW.
We checked it out Sat, no wind at Berk, little at MarinaBay, and averaging at least 19 at that beach. S seemed, couple tacks upwind out would do the trick, sailing to the base of the Richmond Bridge.
We decided to check MarinaBay again, then again, averaging maybe 15 there.

yep. i sailed keller's beach (let's call it victor's beach)with todd white on a NW early in the season. it wasn't exactly epic but we had a good time. neither of us was ready to make the run to angel island but we probably could have.
i think todd tried sailing it on a SW but didn't do so well. the cliffs behind the beach might be doing something to the wind making it swirly.
there might be a weed problem now that it's later in the season. there aren't a lot of good landing options in case of a breakdown or wind dieoff.
nice spot, though.

Always true. I didn't realize how much the eddy could move/grow/shrink. Satellite Images + the available wind sensors give a really good idea of what is happening. Like today the eddy seemed to be way north of the city around Pt. Rayes but now it looks like it may have dipped south and gotten bigger showing SW wind at Ocean Beach.
