| I got MFC weed fins for my South padre Island trip. I can't hardely tell the difference from my regular fins. Fast, good up wind and no weeds... |

Actually, I stated that they are high priced. I think most after market fins are high priced. Most windsurfers will agree with your statement about stock fins. However, many of them are good fins when used correctly. Since a new board usually comes with the smallest fin that fits the board, many people will not be pleased with the combination. Whatever, I just bought a used board which came with a stock fin. Unfortunately, this board has a tuttle box and not like any of my other boards. If I buy a new MFC product, it will cost half as much as the board did. What's that proverb about putting an expensive piece of jewelry on a pig's snout? |

Although I haven't sailed them enough to make a definite assessment, I'm glad I bought the 2 Maui Ultra Fins (MUF) I have. The elliptical outline of both the wave fin and the "No Spin" freeride I have are definitely out of the box thinking for the most part but so far do everything they claim to do. I've got a couple of MFC freeride fins too. They work fine. I'll probably get another MUF before I get another MFC.
Kevinkan. You've been using them as well lately. Any other thoughts?

What is an OP? isobras, I'ld be rather careful about assuming anything based on what you read on this forum. First of all, half the posters have more experience exercising the arrogance of office than they do TOW. Second, when it comes to product people never want to admit that they have been had. In fact, they want to brag about their wise purchases. On Topic, you have many who have shelled out full price for an MFC product and used it. They haven't actually spent much time on the competition's product, but they definitely have made a wise decision. It reminds me of a discussion I had with Phil Mann of Inland Sea about Loft Sails. He basically believed that since they sold for $100 less than the competition, they were inferior. Of course, he couldn't carry them in his shop because they need large accounts to make money. He's just a nickel and dimer like many here. |
