Anyone been sailing at Lake Lopez recently?

I'll be there this Friday through Sunday. Bringing 5.8, 6.5, and 7.5 sails and 120L board. How's the wind been? Water Level? Crowds?

I was there last month. The water level is up and it wasn't too crowded. If there is fog on the coast and Fresno is in the 90's you should get wind.

Water level is at 85% giving just the right ratio of beach to easy launch conditions. Today was poor (by local standards), but over the weekend we had averages up to 24mph with op'd 5.3 conditions. Next few days don't look good as inland will be much cooler (mid 80"s) and the coast wind pump has died off to single digits. Looks to get better around Friday/Saturday when Paso temps go back into the mid 90's and the coast should have fog and 15mph+, so your timing could be just right. So you there!

Thanks for the feedback. Should be fun!

Anyone have any thoughts on whether I should also bring the 100 L board and 5.0 sail (190 pounds)?

The only way you could possibly need that kit is if you don't bring it!

The graphs posted by Geohaye are fairly typical for Lopez so if those are conditions in which you would normally use a 100L/5.0 combo then bring it otherwise I would think the kit you mentioned would work well.

For the next few days I would say no. However, things change on Saturday with an improvement in the thermals and some hefty coast wind that may combine to give us another shot of low 20's like last Saturday morning at 11am. Based on what I see today in the weekend forecast, I would bet you'd be fine on your bigger stuff most of the time. I just wouldn't want to sit it out if it does happen to give us an hour or so of the good stuff.

Also, the last time I was I was asked how many boards I had which I assume means there still is a per board charge or maybe because there were two of us in the car. I only had the one board.
