|
|
| Hey comrades! We are heading off to Ft-Lauderdale for Thanksgiving with boards and sails tied to my roadmaster station wagon - the ultimate WS vehicle! I would be grateful for any tips regarding WS spots there. Can one launch anywhere on the beach? Are there any restrictions? Aslo are there flat water areas, like outerbanks sounds? Thank you very much for any relevant information! |

| The ocean in Ft. Lauderdale is pretty flat...you can launch anywhere. If you need inland, then try Biscayne Bay just about 20 odd miles to the south. Post up a question for the latest intel here: http://www.sfwa.info/ |

| The notice of race for the Inlet to Inlet Race in Fort Lauderdale the following weekend might be helpful. http://www.i-to-i.org/ |

|
|
Hi everybody,
I have just arrived in the Fort Lauderdale and would love to know where I could find some spots to windsurf (and rent equipment).
I work on a boat in Dania Beach and will be here for probably 2 months...
I am not a great windsurfer, just started planning recently... That's why I'd love not to lose everything by not having the chance to practise!
Would sincerely appreciate your help... and hints !
Thanks a lot |

the closest place for rentals is at Rickenbacker Cswy,
Miami, about 30 minutes drive for you, it's on the bay side, so very safe for beginner:

Thank you. Will have a look. Maybe next weekend.
Someone would know of anything closer though?
As I am freelance I often work longer than office hours... 30min may be too much to try and get a ride after work when the wind is there... |
