I was itching to sail but the iWindsurf forecast called for light NW all day for Buzzard’s Bay. But the NWS forecast said switching to SW 10 to 15 for the afternoon, which is a good forecast for Ned’s. Would have liked some discussion from iWindsurf why they thought NWS was wrong. Left the house at 11:30 with the wind already switched, but light (4 knots). By 2:30, I was planning – for a while – on a south wind. iWindsurf had a special update at 2:30 saying the wind switched and will be light S. By a little after 3, the wind filled in more and blew 20 SW until I left at 4:30. I was worried that the wind line would move out to the middle of Buzzard’s Bay and a light NW would fill in behind but this didn’t happen – at least not by 4:30. Glad I went with the NWS. |

Glad you got some |
Took my boat from wd to Monomoy when the south wind picked up to about 12-14. Got my teeth knocked in durring the ride back!
South wind out of seemingly nowhere.
Would have been big sail stuff at west Dennis, but white caps for a while.
(thanks for the gas Evans !, without it I would still be in chatham without a valid permit) |
