Where did you get that from? And if it was true, would you like to keep it this way?

Thanks for bringing that up. Even the worst schools in the inner cities produce a few Stanford and Harvard students. Sadly, many parents do not manage their children, or advocate for kids.

Even the worst school can and will produce great students and kids. Everyone has the same opportunity if they step up to the challenge. They use the same textbooks in South LA as they do in Westlake. They have the same library resources. And, thanks to the internet, every kid can be tutored for free in any subject. (Library computers for even the poorest immigrant)

KC, I also witnessed gun violence when I was very young, and it is a very serious subject. The Allen West comment was meant to be a metaphor by him and me. However, we have lost so much of the personal responsibility aspect of American life that it is true, there are too many idiots with weapons. However, much of those issues could be resolved with gun safety class for anyone below the age of 40 without a college degree. (or IQ test Laughing )

Thank you windoggie for checking my IQ. I was thinking about a nice south swell hitting today.

So they don't send kids to the ivy league from the inner city? Shows just how racist you are mac. My point was to show that if 1 kid can do it, they all can. I get that there are many shitty schools, but no matter how shitty, every school has produced a few great minds. Why? Probably parents.

My father in law crossed the border with his family, legally to pick fruit. He only had a high school education and became a wealthy man over the years. HE NEVER GOT A GOVT HANDOUT, EVER. His kids went to school in East LA. Most of them are wealthy. Life couldn't have been harder, or with more obstacles and road blocks for them.

The German Workers' Party name was changed by Hitler to include the term National Socialist. Then he blossomed as a facist. Hitler only took guns from the people who were opposed to him politically. Of course he allowed members of his own "Democratic" party to own hand guns.

My point in all discussions over the years is that if it can happen in Italy or Germany or Russia, it can happen here.

http://pjmedia.com/blog/homeland-security-lexicon-youre-all-militia-extremists-now/

A recently published “lexicon” distributed to thousands of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) targets citizens concerned about their Second Amendment rights and the steady encroachment of the federal government, categorizing such as “militia extremists.”

The “lexicon,” marked Unclassified/For Official Use Only (FOUO), is dated November 10, 2011, and was sent out by email to law enforcement and homeland security agencies on November 14 by LaJuan E. Washington of the DHS Office of Intelligence and Analysis.

We have exclusively posted the DHS “lexicon” here.

Its definition of “militia extremists” states:

(U//FOUO) Groups or individuals who facilitate or engage in acts of violence directed at federal, state, or local government officials or infrastructure in response to their belief that the government deliberately is stripping Americans of their freedoms and is attempting to establish a totalitarian regime. These individuals consequently oppose many federal and state authorities’ laws and regulations, (particularly those related to firearms ownership), and often belong to armed paramilitary groups. They often conduct paramilitary training designed to violently resist perceived government oppression or to violently overthrow the US Government.

Google “Terra Firma — A Journey from Migrant Farm Labor to Neurosurgery,” by Alfredo Quinones-Hinojosa, the director of the brain-tumor stem-cell laboratory at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He came to the U.S. illegally from Mexico in the mid-1980′s, as a teenage migrant worker who didn’t speak English. Through a long series of hard jobs, accidents, inspiration, and mentorship, he wound up attending Berkeley and then Harvard Medical School. It isn’t a long article; read it now at

Right, the whole point of what I've said is the libs think that these massive federal programs are the best thing we can do for the poor. The truth is, that the truely poorest of our country....those who still have pride. Those who refuse to accept welfare becaue they have too much pride, often are the ones who succeed far beyond any rich white kid. I've seen it work, in my life, and my family's life.

Can you imagine crossing into our country and picking fruit so that your 10 kids can have a better life? Can you imagine living in East L.A., not speaking English, and then working as a meat cutter? In Mac's world those folks would need a handout. Can you imagine 35 years that same man is a millionaire? No you can't Mac.

Even the liberals who run the Natl Parks deem it a crime to feed the animals. Why? Because they won't be capable of feeding themselves when the tourists go away in the winter.

Just walk through your own streets of San Francisco Mac. See what your liberal ideology has done to that city. Think back when you were a boy at how that city sparkled. You should be ashamed at what your ideology has done to that city.

We of course have left Los Angeles. It used to be even more beautiful than SF. It is now equally filthy as your city. Both run by liberals for decades.

Bard, SF is a spectacular beauty....still the gem of the country. The city front has never looked better, the parks are wonderful, the neighborhoods never more beautiful, SOMA is in the process of complete regentrification thanks to the Biotech industry, and Twitter is taking over the tenderloin. Market street is still a blight, but as soon as it gets closed to traffic, that will change. You are absolutely clueless in your critique of SF.
BTW- LA was NEVER more beautiful than SF, NEVER. Its a flat, smoggy pile of concrete.

Boggs, you crack me up. Laughing About 100 square miles from the 405 to the 605, and from Long Beach to LA are a war zone. But the suburbs are gorgeous. Thanks to "global warming" (and catalytic converters) we no longer have smog, because our weather has become to much cooler, with all the onshore flow.

I was walking around SF 2 months ago, and although there is beauty, and you love your town like I love mine, neither is sparkling or representative of the best that America can offer. C'mon, you were there in the 60's. Just go to Provo Utah, Colorodo Springs or Orange County California to see what well run citys looks like. BTW, all conservative.
