Ocean Beach today, small and warm for a change. Powered 5.4, two other regulars and lots of kites.

BTW, as of 6:00am Wednesday Ocean Beach looks like Alameda, no surf. Northwest wind outside. Anyone who has wanted to try sailing here should consider a drive by this afternoon.

Rod & Gun was a bonus yesterday. I was about to start dinner at 5:15 when it came up. Ended up eating late. 5.0 / 100 Liters. Nice to sail in the setting sun.

Wed Berk at 2:30, 5.5 and 102 a little underpowered by planing the whole time, loosened down and out, got better, but so did the wind.

Those sensors (Pt. Isabel/Pt. Potrero) don't tell the whole story. Powered up the whole time from 1:30 to 3:45 on a 5.7. Would compare it to a 20+ reading on the Berkeley sensor. Glad trip to desert got postponed!

judging the graph it's good you were at the launch at 3:45 and not out by brooks island.

Verter's got it dialed.
I also get some good 5.5 days at MarinaBay late when the sensor at PtIsabelle was closer to 10-17, and Pt.Portreo 11-15.
However, we're both lightweights, and have big boards.

Washoe Lake delivered today very sold wind 18-30 and steady (for a lake)Anyway I sailed a 5.0 and my Kode 103 with a 9 3/4 TA wave fin, my wife was well powered on her 78 Naish Wave/8.5 TA wave fin and her bread and butter old school Northwave 4.2. Pic below is of a local on a 4.5.

Yesterday at Berkeley...wind was light, so it seemed like a perfect time to try my 6.6 thats been mouldering in the back of my truck. Right on cue, after one reach, the wind jumped to 30. Took all of my skills to make it back to shore. That is the LAST TIME I rig something that big. Sheesh.
