|
|
Hi,
I have a beautifully old Mistral Superlight board that has been neglected and has the classic fin broke the fin box. So I have the original fin but no fin box.
I have searched to see if I could buy a replacement fin box but have found nothing which makes sense because I would not think the market would be big enough to make the remanufacture worthwhile.
So what I have it this vacant fin box and the original transparent blue fin with pins on both side in excellent shape. What I am looking for is suggestions on getting a fin (does not have to be the original but that would be ideal) on this light wind machine.
Thanks very much,
Jim Lee |

I have the finbox in a board but no fin....shoved in a crawlspace
I am going to drop a powerbox in there (some day)
To be frank, I have no idea how the box comes out.... was prob just going to take a sawz-all to it ....if it can screw out, i can send it to you.
Frankly though the fin is a POS, and unless you want to keep it "original", I wouold put an Abox or powerbox in _________________ Chango Love:

When my original box (that allowed the fin to retract) broke I simply glassed the old plastic fin into the hole:

It's been working fine. May not be the prettiest thing, but the board is coming up on its 30th birthday and is a bit worn generally. Still love to sail it though!
