Shipping formula sail, which carrier?

Sold a 9.2 and need to ship SF to Seattle area. Which carrier is recommended? Any insights from someone who has shipped an oversize package would be appreciated.

Delta Cargo has worked well for me shipping surfboards from Hawaii to LAX. It was cheap and fast, but had to go to the airport to pick up. They may have home delivery options...don't know.

Amtrak, you and reciepient have to go to a major station though.

Fedex ground will take a package that long and deliver to the door.

I have used Davis trucking and Forward Air Freight sending Formula sails , boards and booms to Texas , Mass , Nv and Canada.

DHL ships just about anything. Fedex and UPS have size limits but a sail would probably make it but a formula board has no chance. Amtrak or bus companies might work too but they sketched me out when I tried using them.

I shipped a 9.8 Gaastra GTX from Sacramento, CA to Greensboro, NC about 2 months ago via Fedex. It was abut $35. I pulled the cams off and shipped them separately. I only boxed the ends and rolled the sail tight to make it under the Fedex limits.

Go with the slowest option for the cheapest price.
I recently had 3 sails and a mast shipped from Maui to Kauai via Fedex and it cost $115!!! but apparently the shipper sent it overnight, if they had used the slowest option it probably would have cost 1/3 that, live and learn.
Overnight, three day and ground are the options with Fedex and UPS I believe.
Also the USPS is usually the cheapest option of all.
