My wife got bit by one last week, she got it in our yard here in Underwood. The bite area blew up and got big and red, with the "bulls eye" look. She ran to the doctor and is now on a broad spectrum anti-bug drug.

Don't fool around with those things, Lyme's disease is no laughing matter.

They don't like the smell of a body with garlic, so they don't eat me.

We saw a tick epidemic at Doug's West many years ago; I doubt ticks know Doug's West from Doug's.

Think about it; how often do we sit on the ground in our shorts while rigging?

My wife yanked one out of my scalp a week ago. And I am constantly plucking them off my dog.

A couple of years ago my dog got extremely sick and it turned out to be Lyme disease. She lost 10+ pounds (out of 60), and was almost paralyzed. Cost a fortune to get it figured out but the cure was very easy - 30 days of Doxycycline and she was fine. Good news is she is now immune.

And no, I don't take my dog sailing with me so she ain't free-poopin about.
