Yep, I sailed 4.8 this morning and the M10 meter never got over 13. Going back out on 4.8 now and it's reading 10.

...nobody here either. I guess we are relying on iwindsurf too much.

I talked to iwndsurf support staff a few months ago and they were looking at moving the M10 sensor back to M12 since the marker has been replaced. Maybe now is a good time. Anyone heard anthing more???

My experience is that Marker 14 usually reads 5+ mph higher than Marker 10 in any given condition (not accurately in my view). Obviously something's amiss with Marker 10. Help us! I was sailing around on a 6.0 when it was saying it was 3, so there's a bad bearing or something in that puppy!

Yes. Read the 4th post on this thread from bmmiller. Same for you other guys who keep posting "help us."

Here we go again. It's ripping up the River near Marker 14, but it says 13 at Marker 10. My estimate is that it's about 25 or so average. Help us! I don't think we can wait for the sensor to be relocated...

Talk about a sensor being OFF! This is from beautiful Lahontan Res on Sunday when I sailed comfortably on a 7.0! Better yet monday, when it was windy with Washoe registering 30 MPH much of the day; There wouldn't be any trees left standing!

beallmd,

The Lahontan Reservoir sensor is a NWS ASOS sensor that is carefully calibrated and the nearby sensors seem to verify the strong winds from Monday (see below). However, please note that neither of these sensors shown are operated by WeatherFlow. Hence, we have no control over the maintenance schedule, siting, calibrations, etc.

Can't help but answer; I didn't think the Lahontan sensor was yours. It has been reading too high for the last couple of weeks, something is wrong. Unless I've suddenly become Superman, I can assure that I can't easily hold down a 7.0 while the winds are blowing 28 to 30 with gusts to nearly 40. I wish I was all that! Yep Monday was windy, but holding at over 50? That would be some really serious wind. (We get winds holding at over 30 at Washoe-I'm having trouble conceiving of winds holding at over 50-Has anyone actually been in wind that strong outside of a hurricane? Antarctica?).
