Yo, iWindsurf, what's up with the new color scale?
I'm sorry, but 17-20 is sooo not worthy of red.
Go back to your old scale, so that when I'm driving and looking at the little screen on my phone, I don't get overly excited for what is essentially a false positive. |

And now they're calling upper teens -- i.e. unsailable -- "windy", a term NOAA reserves for averages bumping 30 mph. For a while there I'd see "windy" in iW's text, then run into the kitchen wall trying to read the details on my way to the garage. Now I just yaaawwwwwn and read the details BEFORE I get excited.

I agree - keep the original colors. This is a classic example of what every engineer knows - if ain't broke, don't fix it. You "fixed" something that was perfectly fine to begin with. |

I just noticed these. I agree the new colors suck. I am wondering what color they will use for 30 and above... |

Sorry johnl and isobars. You must have missed it when we DID have a forecast for over 30 about two weeks ago. Hopefully you were on the water instead of staring at my forecast tables.
Honestly, I'm not sure why the table color scheme changed. We have brought this up to management and we may restore it to the former scheme. However, even if we don't, please remember that some people (especially those in light winds area like San Diego and Connecticut) actually like having greater distinction instead of always seeing light green and aqua green! So, there's two sides to every coin. |

I like the new color scheme. Since I'm Pavlovian trained to believe
good wind is in the Burgundy range, I see those colors, and immediately
develop a smile. After downing a 6 pack in preparation, I pretty sure
the wind is blowing 30, even if it isn't.
Seriously though, for me it makes the model more readable.

Wow, A bit harsh if you indeed are part of management far from me to defend the over iso-monster but a few others have disagreed with the color scheme maybe include them with your new found color scheme rant. we can't all be be from the windless midwest. |
