I did say Larkspur one Sat got 150 cars, but since I don't sail 'Stick, I would never comment on total #'s there.... |
I just like poking fun at the hey-dayers. I didn't really know what windsurfing was back then. Doesn't make it any less enjoyable knowing there once was more people doing it. Most of my huge group of bay area friends are windsurfers. |

Nice day at the stick. Sailed from 1 to 3:30 on a 5.7 - mellow sailing, just what I needed for my old tired bones (tired from yard work all morning!)
The usual crowd of locals in the parking lot - nice people for the most part, just doing their thing while we windsurfers do ours. I've had my car broken into in Orinda and bikes stolen in the "nice" part of Pleasant Hill, but never a problem at the Stick in well over a dozen years of sailing there. But if you're still concerned out there, then avoid it - saves me a parking space! |

| FWIW, nice day yesterday with 5.5 building to 4.7 wind at Washoe. Reasonably warm (full suit), sunny, 5 windsurfers with about 12 kiters out. |

5.0 at the Stick at about 1:30 today. Parking was tight as the park is closed on Friday's and the local homeboys had most of the prime parking spots by the road. The wind was good by 1 pm, pretty much filled in and flooding so I sailed towards Sierra Pt (wind is fluky out there), played around for a bit and tacked back to the main area for more. When I was derigging a bigass pitbull belonging to a group of Samoan's decided to walk all over my 5.0. They found this funny and I of course gave them my "no problem" smile Still, it was a good day at the Stick. |

My last experience sailing the tail end of the ebb, going into the flood was nasty choppy water that you couldn't do much with. I would put my pointing hat on and sail the end of the flood.

| 5.0 at Oyster on Saturday. Tough getting to Tigers where I could have sailed a half meter smaller. Seems that the more buildings going up around Genentech, the more squirrely the offshore winds are from launch to the Tigers corridor (~1000 meters). Same thing will probably happen to Coyote once they build. |
