The 2010/2011 Sting 134 is slightly better than the SS77. Hard to believe in the past decade, the SS series has just been barely topped in design improvements. Most people that have/had SS's don't want to give them up or have sailed them to death....
The Sting in all sizes have an extra bit of ease thru jibes compared to the SS's of the past. The fins that come with them have a bias toward light wind performance. Get a slightly smaller and stiffer one for the windier applications, and you've got 2-3 boards in one.
The SSII 89 was the only free ride board that out performed the original SS series and only in that uber size class. That board is beyond priceless. _________________ www.aerotechsails.com

I have an Exocet Speed Slider 77 (I believe it is a 2002 model) for sale for $300 with straps, without fin or base plate. I can send pictures. I think it is in good to excellent condition. I've only used it 12 times since I bought it in October 2008 as part of a package deal (5 boards, 8 sails, 8 masts, 4 booms, 18 fins, several extensions, etc. The previous owner said he hadn't windsurfed for several years due to his carpal tunnel condition which was why he sold all of his equipment to me. I don't know if the previous owner ever jumped with it, I haven't because my skills & conditions aren't good enough.
Have your friend contact me, using my full name (all one word) at cfu dot net.
Thanks, |

Holy mackerel, that's a huge purchase, even if it was just for used gear. It must have been a fire sale for pennies on the dollar. |

| My October 2008 purchase was at what both of us thought was a fair price. The seller wanted to sell everything without going through the hassles of marketing and shipping. I wanted to keep enough of the items for myself and was willing to eventually do marketing and shipping in hopes of getting enough back to pay for a big chunk of what I was keeping. I'm still working on that part. I'm still evaluating what I want to keep. That is partly due to some changes in my ideas of the varieties and sail size limits of the windsurfing I want to be able to do. I have a garage with significant storage space as well as a windsurfing trailer that sits outside so storage was not a problem. |
